Masquerade of Bone and Dust

The party cleared a sunless wing of the dungeon where a false noble — the Maurezhi — had taken up a decayed court among the bones. The Maurezhi used borrowed finery and illusions to command a small retinue of animated skeletons, gladiatorial remains, and a bonedust construct that fed on ossified offerings. Beneath torn tapestries and collapsed banners the party finds the trappings of rank (a signet, a ruined cloak, a ledger of debts), the battered gear of the gladiator guard, useful necromantic components sifted from the bonedust golem's core, and a few rarer artifacts the Maurezhi used to keep up appearances. Most metal is pitted with age; much of the value lies in gems, arcane components, and a single blade and veiling charm that whisper of the Maurezhi's deceit.
