The Tale of This Treasure
After hours of slogging through a sodden, churned battlefield where banners lay half-buried and the air hummed with insects, the party clears the last of the fighting pits. Blood hawks picked clean fallen scouts and dragged away trinkets, centipedes chewed through leather straps and packs, and a lone roper had been hoarding the curios of a small forward outpost. The drider and cloakers stalked the edges, taking trophies of rank from those they picked off. What remains is a scattered cache of practical salvage — weapons nicked but repairable, armor fragments worth recycling, entangled pennants and rank tokens, preserved venom sacks and rare spider silk — mixed with the occasional coin and jewel taken from dead officers. The haul is the kind a resourceful party can turn into gold, craft into useful gear, or keep as grim reminders of the field.
