The Tale of This Treasure
After a nasty tussle with a lone mimic that had masqueraded as an old treasure chest in the dungeon's second chamber, the party gutted the creature and recovered the items it had swallowed and clung to. Most of the valuables are everyday adventuring fare — a modest coin purse, a couple of small gems, and a common healing potion someone foolishly stashed for safety. More unusual are the mimic's own byproducts: sticky adhesive lumps and a preserved scrap of its hide, valuable to tanners, trapmakers, or an enterprising alchemist. Nothing recovered is heavy armor or elaborate war gear (the mimic never wore clothing like that), but there are a few useful tools and a clue in the form of a map fragment that might point deeper into the dungeon.
