The Tale of This Treasure
The town watch intercepted a crude raiding party that had tried to slip through the Marlbridge Gate at dusk. The orc and two half-orcs acted as the vanguard while three goblins skittered ahead to set fires and cause confusion. The guard fought to protect the town, dropping the raiders in the cobbled square and hauling off belongings and evidence they could use to prosecute or sell. Much of the plunder is rough — scavenged trade goods, damaged weapons and a small handful of useful pieces that the watch can inventory, keep as evidence, or sell to outfit the town's militia. A few items appear recently stolen from local merchants: a bolt of cloth stamped with a tailor’s mark, a ledger with names and amounts, and coins shoveled into a leather pouch. The more valuable pieces seem to belong to the half-orc leader and are not typical goblin finds.
