Ruins of the Workshop: The Stonewarden and the Mad Artificer

The party pushed through a collapsing corridor into a ruined workshop hewn into living rock. Shelves of half-finished devices lay under a dusting of grit. At the center, a hulking stone golem had been bound to the will of an obsessed artificer. After the artificer’s desperate wards shattered and the golem fell, the party cleared the workbenches and pried open a locked, rune-carved chest. They salvaged the artificer’s field gear, several useful magic items intended for ongoing experiments, cut gemstones, and odd construct components: a chunk of golem corestone and a crystallized adamant heart that will be prized by tinkerers. Among the mundane coins and toolkits were spell-foci and schematics that can help recreate the artificer’s contraptions or fetch a good price in a city market.
