Battle of Blackfen Ridge — Battlefield Spoils

The field is a tangle of churned mud, snapped branches and overturned carts. An owlbear lies sprawled near a shattered druid's grove shrine — the druid clearly fought to defend the beast and fell with it. A small warlord and his band of ten ragged bandits had been trying to claim the ridge; a desperate wizard on their side raised three shambling corpses toward the end. After the last thunder of combat, survivors comb the dead and the ruined camp: coins and jewelry from the bandits, the warlord's banner and signet, a stunted wizard's component pouch with torn spell notes, the druid's herbal bundles and carved focus, and trophies from the owlbear. Nothing here is obviously enchanted — more the castoffs, trophies and tools left behind by combatants of varied trades.
