The party pried open a swollen oak chest in a dim, damp side chamber of the dungeon. No corpses or signs of a recent battle — this stash looks like the leftovers of an old expedition or a once-useful supply cache long since abandoned. Most items are battered or partially degraded, but a few things retain value or usefulness: a handful of coins, two modest gemstones, a common healing potion, a rusted short sword, a worn map fragment that hints at deeper corridors, a small bundle of usable crafting scraps, and a set of serviceable thieves' tools. This cache is appropriate for a first-level party: not life-changing wealth, but enough to buy equipment, pay a night or two at an inn, or cover expedition expenses while hinting at further secrets deeper in the dungeon.
