The Tale of This Treasure

The party cleared a stinking cluster of cliffside nests where three harpies had been ambushing travelers with beguiling tunes. In the nests they found a scatter of stolen belongings and small valuables the harpies had plundered over many moons. Among the stash were two polished agates and a pouch of mixed coin that likely came from several victims. Tucked under a damp blanket of feathers was a common healing potion that a hunter had hidden and a spellscroll ruined in places but still potent enough to hold Suggestion. Hidden beneath the nests' central platform was a finely made shortbow that the harpies had dragged down from a quarry victim. The party also collected dozens of primary flight feathers that a local crafter will value for making cloaks, fletchings, or as components in wind and charm magics. Finally, a warped traveler's lute radiates lingering charm magic. The items lend themselves to selling for supplies, gifting to a spellcaster who reads the scroll, or keeping the magic instruments and bow for future encounters where the party needs subtle domination or a reliable ranged weapon.
