The Tale of This Treasure

The party spent two days picking through battered corridors and silt-choked chambers of an ancient stonewright's complex — a place of collapsed vaults, rune-stenciled columns and clockwork skeletons long since oxidized away. No guardians remained; the danger here was age and traps left half-triggered. Behind a tipped mural and a locked vault door (opened after a careful disable) the group uncovered a pocket of preserved goods: trade coin washed into niches, a battered ledger with architect's sigils, a trove of workable craft components prized by artificers, a handful of gemstones embedded in sculpted niches, and a few intact minor magical items and scrolls likely placed as part of a layaway or emergency cache centuries ago. Some runes echo motifs similar to Thassilonian stonecraft, suggesting a highly skilled but local workshop rather than a royal treasury.
