The Captain's Last Stand

The clash of steel against steel finally falls silent as the Guard Captain collapses on the cobblestones of the town square. Smoke from nearby fires drifts over the scene, and the surrounding guards have scattered or surrendered. Upon the fallen leader, the party finds the well-maintained equipment of a career soldier and the symbols of his local authority, still warm from the heat of the battle.
