The Tale of This Treasure

The party spends a careful hour picking through the collapsed nave and side-chapels of a small, long-abandoned church. There were no signs of recent occupants or beasts — only the muted remainsof piety: toppled pews, a half-buried altar stone, and the sacristy cupboard collapsed onto itself. Most items are modest donations or liturgical tools, water- and smoke-stained but serviceable. A few small pieces would fetch a coin or two from a town antiquarian; others are more valuable to a priest or craftsman than to a coin-purveyor. The finds reflect a humble place of worship rather than a warrior's armory: religious trinkets, scraps of stained glass perfect for an artisan, candle wax, incense, and a pocket of loose change tucked into a ruined prayer kneeler.
