Deep in the ruined vaults beneath a forgotten citadel the party confronted three apex foes whose lairs had become entangled over centuries: an Ancient Golden Dragon that claimed the sunlit atrium, a paranoid Beholder whose webs of anti-magic and traps sprawled through the lower galleries, and the Lich Lord who made the deepest crypt his phylacteryed stronghold. The battle left the vaults strewn with melted gold, crystalline motes of collected spellfire, and relics warped by planar rituals. The dragon’s hoard dominates the pile with gilded statuary and cunningly gilded magic items; the Beholder contributed ocular trinkets and anti-magic components; the Lich’s effect lingers in preserved soul-iron and enchanted parchment. The value below reflects both mundane wealth and rarities a 20th-level party would expect to extract from such a layered lair while accounting for the implausibility of certain items (no heavy mundane armor from creatures that would not wear it, for example).
