Field of Broken Standards

You pick your way through churned earth, splintered pikes and scattered shields beneath a gray sky. Smoke from cooking fires and the acrid tang of blood still hang in the air. There was no great beast or lone monster to slay here — this was a small, brutal skirmish between two regiments. The dead and wounded have already been stripped of anything truly valuable, but what remains are useful soldiering gear, a few officer's effects, small gems and coin, plus salvageable materials that a capable party can turn into cash or tools. Among the spoils are a good shortbow, a single healing potion likely lost in the chaos, a battered but repairable chain shirt, and a tattered banner that might be worth as much for information as for cloth.
