Blackstone Ford — Battlefield Spoils

The skirmish at Blackstone Ford left the riverbank littered with bodies, torn cloaks, and the black-and-red banner of a highway gang known locally as the Black Band. Five thugs fell clutching battered blades and a handful of coin; a spy's quicksilver signals and folded dispatches betrayed a larger plan; a master thief paid for his hubris with a locked ebony box and a ruined wrist; and a werewolf, driven from the trees to the ford by the earlier firefight, was finally put down when someone struck true with a silvered blade. The party gathered what they could: usable weapons and armour, documents and tools that might be worth far more to the right faction, a handful of gemstones the thief was hoarding, and a few odd trophies and magical items that hint at a higher stake in the gang's operations.
