Ambush at Talvern Rise

The skirmish on the eastern slope ended in a messy victory. The bandits fell in twisted piles around their crude campfires while the lord collapsed near his litter, his retinue routed. After the smoke cleared the party combed the field and the lord's carriage. They gather mixed coinage and a few tradeable gems from saddlebags, seize serviceable weapons and patched armor from the raiders, and recover a potion from the lord's medical kit. The signet ring and a torn household banner mark the presence of a minor noble, while a bloodstained ledger hints at corruption and possible future complications. Most items are immediately sellable at the next market; the ledger and banner are worth more to the right buyer or to a character who wants leverage or renown.
