Aftermath of the Iron Sundering: Battlefield Spoils

The field still smells of smoke and iron. Tents lay shredded, wagons upended and half-burned, and the broken standards of a dozen companies flutter in the wind. There were no monsters to fell — only men and metal — so the treasure is the kind a victorious army would leave behind: coin chests looted from pay wagons, battered but superb equipment stripped from officers, fragments of fortifications that are more valuable as raw material than scrap, and a handful of objects that bear the weight of command. Salvage crews and scavengers have already picked the obvious items; what remains is a haul for a party with the tools and expertise to extract and appraise it: masterwork armor and weapons in need of repair, enchanted standards and trinkets taken from the field HQ, engineering salvage suitable for high-tier craftsmen, high-value gems hidden in a command chest, and written orders and deeds whose political value may be worth more than their metal.
