Tombs Beneath the Withered Bell

After forcing open a collapsed vault door, the party descended into a small necropolis reeking of old death. Five hungry ghouls had been feasting on a broken bier while a cohort of ten skeletons kept watch in brittle ranks. At the far end, the ghast nightcaller had raised a trembling chorus of laments before the party silenced it. Among the shattered altars and overturned reliquaries the adventurers gathered modest coin, semiprecious stones pried from shrine offerings, mundane grave-goods, and a handful of useful magic: a Bag of Holding for hauling the haul and a +1 short sword scavenged from a skeletal sergeant. A potion of healing, several tradeable gems, and odd ritual components completed the spoils. The party also recovered a brittle key likely tied to further tombs deeper in the complex.
