Golden Echoes of the Den

The party stumbled into a cave mouth stinking of old smoke and honeyed rot — a secondary lair where three grizzlies had lately taken to foraging, and where an ancient golden dragon kept a small, easily-guarded stash of gifts and trinkets. The bears had dragged out and hoarded a number of objects from the dragon's outer caches; the dragon itself departed to patrol the cliffs, leaving behind only a portion of its trove. After a brutal fight with the three grizzlies at the cave entrance, the party was able to pry open a battered iron-bound chest and rifle through the dragon's cast-off riches. What remained is a mix of large-value dragon pieces, practical valuables the grizzlies had pilfered, and smaller arcane remnants the dragon considered unbecoming for the inner hoard.
