The Tale of This Treasure

After a bruising fight in the low, rubble-strewn halls of the dungeon's lower storerooms, the party stands among broken crates, a toppled cooking spit and the bodies of three ogres and a hill giant. The giants were not hoarders of fine things, but had taken trophies from caravans and nearby hunting parties: preserved meat, hides and bones for their crude smithing, a few semi-precious stones to trade with human raiders, and one oversized weapon that hums faintly with a tempering enchantment (either drawn from the giant's unusual luck or the party's careful inspection). The loot reflects what predators and raiders drag back to a lair — bulky, useful materials and a few tradable valuables rather than ornate treasure.
