The Tale of This Treasure
Beneath a sun-baked arch of sandstone, the party cleared a shallow trench-ringed courtyard: three sandstalkers (ambush predators that hide beneath drifting grit), a band of three desert marauders who'd taken shelter in the ruins, and a lone mystic who had been studying the courtyard's weathered runes. The beasts yielded strange biological materials adapted for burrowing and camouflage; the marauders carried coin, salvageable weapons and trade goods; the mystic left behind arcane fragments, ritual notes and a partially intact dust-scribed focus. Mixed in with the spoils are traces of the ruins' older occupants — a cracked rune tablet and a cache of glazed beads and cut stones likely looted from the site's original tombs. The finds are a mix of immediate coin, practical crafting materials for armorers/alchemists, and a few items of arcane interest that could be sold or turned into a workable magic item.
