The Tale of This Treasure
After a brutal fight in the damp, torchlit chambers of a flooded dungeon hall, the party stands over the fallen tidebaron and his retinue. Blood and seawater mix with the crushed coral and kelp that line the floor. The sahuagin warriors carried crude but serviceable gear; the priests guarded a carved coral reliquary and a varnished trident that thrummed faintly with old oceanic rites. In the baron's small hoard the party finds polished pearls, a patch of worked sahuagin scale leather, and a priestly rod whose inlaid barnacles still shimmer with latent magic. The trove suggests these sahuagin were part of a minor cult devoted to a local sea spirit rather than a major sahuagin dominion — useful gear and a handful of true treasures that will outfit the party and reward their risk.
