The Tale of This Treasure
The party cleared a cramped, smoke-stained den carved into bedrock where twenty kobolds nested in crooked tunnels and stacked piles of stolen goods. The kobolds fought with numbers, traps, and frantic courage, leaving behind a motley hoard of scavenged coin, trade beads, crude weapons and trap parts, and a few items of genuine value. Among the refuse a soapstone dragonling idol and a fragile ring with scorched runes hint at local superstition and a kobold shaman's influence. The loot is a mix of immediate cash, useful crafting materials and ammunition, a modest healing draught to ease wounds, and a small magical charm that will interest a collector or a low level party member. Taken together the haul should reward a level 4 party without unbalancing progression, and provides hooks for selling, repairing, or investigating kobold superstition and trapcraft.
