Aftermath of the River Ford Ambush

The party arrives as steam rises off trampled grass and the riverbank is strewn with the remains of a messy engagement. Tracks show goblins and hobgoblins ambushed a small merchant column and were joined by opportunistic bandits. The crocodons lurked in the shallows and snapped at anyone dragged into the water. After cutting down the last bandit leader the adventurers search pockets and saddlebags. The spoils are a mix of practical battlefield takings and a few finer items stripped from leaders and a captured chest. Most coin and common gear will fund repairs and supplies. The magical items and gemstones are rarer finds, taken from the hobgoblin captain and the best-equipped bandit leader. The party also recovers useful crafting materials from the crocodons and a partial map that hints at larger raids along the merchant road.
