The Tale of This Treasure

The bandits had been using the abandoned side-yard of the lumbermill as a staging ground — hiding coin pouches and stolen goods between stacked planks and under sawdust. The captain kept a small chest and a battered ledger documenting which shipments were skimmed and which foreman was bribed; a hot iron used to brand stolen beams bore the mark of a nearby sawpit. Most gear is the sort a burglar or petty raider would carry: patched leather, crude but serviceable weapons, a healer's potion the captain stashed for emergencies, and a handful of low-value gems and trinkets taken from traveling crews. The party can pocket coin and tradeable tools, use the woodworking supplies in town or the workshop, and use the ledger and brand as evidence or leverage with local authorities.
