Ash and Obsidian: The Red Sovereign's Vault

The party toppled a cunning alliance: a battle-hardened adult red dragon claimed the ruined volcanic citadel as its lair, protected by a small cabal of duergar black guards and an ambitious archmage who sought the dragon's magic for their own experiments. The fight scorched the throne hall; the dragon's hoard is deeply layered — a mix of obvious coin and glittering gems, arcane components ripped from the archmage's studies, and the rough-forged armaments of duergar sentries. Many items are singed, fused with ash, or cooled from recent heat. A few items bear clear evidence of the archmage's influence (arcane wards, runic inlays) while others are crude but sturdy duergar craft. The most valuable objects are guarded in a small obsidian chest blackened from the dragon's breath, while lesser valuables litter the hall in toppled chests and broken urns.
