The clearing still smells of singed hair and wet earth. A battered owlbear lies half-draped over a torn war banner; the ground is littered with broken staves, spent spell components and coin pouches torn from bandits' belts. Between a warlord's splintered command post and the wizard's charred notes, the party gathers trophies, supplies and a few valuables — a mix of practical salvage (leather, herbs, weapons) and telltale tokens (a signet ring, a bloodstained banner) that may interest locals or buy a night's lodgings.
