Shadowweb Ambush Spoils

You surprised a raiding party of six drow elite warriors as they funneled through a narrow, web-choked defile toward a hidden shrine. The priestess of Lolth tried to raise a wall of spiders and cloak herself in shadow before the ambush turned on her; her ritual collapsed, leaving a shattered obsidian idol and a ruined altar strewn with silk and black beads. The warriors fell with their gear still strapped on — fine but light arms and webbing designed for hit-and-run Underdark tactics. The priestess's personal effects look both valuable and dangerous: ritual implements, spell scrolls half-seared by holy flame, and a spider-themed cloak that hums faintly with magic. Much of the treasure is specialized — spider-silk, venom vials, and black opals favored in drow offerings — and a buyer on the surface might pay handsomely, though some items carry not just price but portent. Handle the idol and the priestess's vestments with care; to the faithful of Lolth they are holy, and to others they are tempting tools.
