The party pushed through a collapsed stair and found a small, dust-choked vault beneath the dungeon's library. No guardians remained — whatever warded the room long ago had failed or been cleared. Shelves of locked chests, a ledger full of trade routes, and a broken reliquary held a mixture of coin, usable crafting components, a few useful minor devices, and a single tempered blade wrapped in oilcloth. The haul is the sort of cache a mid-ranking administrator or retired tinkerer might have stored away: valuable to sell, useful for crafting, and interesting enough to warrant further investigation.
