The Tale of This Treasure

The battlefield is a churn of smashed carts, snapped spears, and the smoke of campfires long put out. The goblin ranks came first in overwhelming numbers, harrying flanks with bows and jagged blades, while bugbears and a few ogres smashed through the center. What remains is the raiders' spoils: coin pouches pried from caravans, crudely valued gems taken from merchant boxes, and the personal effects of officers and champions. The party finds practical goods for immediate use, a few reliably magical finds a testament to lucky blows, and small trophies and documents that point to further opportunities. Some items are fit for selling to local merchants, others are suited to patching equipment or outfitting the party for the next push. The presence of an ogre commander explains the rare, heftier prizes, while the goblins and bugbears account for the flood of mundane weapons and the patchwork trinkets.
