The Tale of This Treasure
The four fighters were part of a small garrison posted to guard a collapsed stairwell in the dungeon's lower corridors. The scuffle left armor dented, a banner torn, and several personal effects scattered around a shallow, hastily dug grave. The party stripped the men of their pay, tools, and whatever might prove useful in deeper tunnels: practical gear, a small amount of coin, a few tradeable bits of equipment, and one tidy clue — a fragment of a hand-drawn map bearing a sigil matching the dungeon's deeper markings. Nothing here is arcane or richly enchanted; it's the sort of haul a group of poorly paid guards and conscripts would carry.
