Sewer Nest Cleansing — Webs and Vermin

The party breached a foul, discarded storeroom turned vermin nest beneath an old township dungeon. Scores of scavenging giant rats had made dens around discarded trinkets and rusted gear; a few venomous centipedes lurked in the damp timbers; a single, malformed giant inferno spider wove a small larder of heat-darkened silk around the room's one intact chest. With the creatures driven off or slain, what remains are useful salvageables — modest coin, useful crafting matter taken from carapaces and silk, a vial of venom useful to an alchemist, and small trinkets worth selling to a curious buyer. Nothing of clear enchantment was found, though the spider's silk has an odd, emberlike sheen that could fetch attention from a clothworker or apothecary.
