After picking their way through a collapsed stair and a tangle of roots the party finds a low, bricked cellar whose wooden door finally gives under a well-placed shove. Inside, stacked against the far wall, are a battered chest and a half-rotted crate. The chest contains pocketed coin, three small gemstones, and a single potion quietly humming with restorative magic. The crate holds mundane but useful supplies: a dagger, rope, a tinderbox, and a set of thieves' tools likely dropped by a previous thief. Tucked into the journal in the chest is a roughly drawn sketch of a locked iron door deeper in the dungeon marked with a glyph-like symbol. The items are modest but sensible rewards for a first-level party and give options for healing, exploration, and trading in the nearest settlement.
