Beneath a vaulted cavern slick with old soot and fresh magma veins, the adult red dragon's carcass lies collapsed beside a half-molten throne of coin. The heat here still stings; the dragon's last convulsions singed banners and fused small items together. Between charred pyres and a ring of collapsed pillars, the hoard reveals both the dragon's taste for glitter and the spoils of its raids: ornate jewelry set with deep-fire rubies, warped but serviceable magic items, a cache of rare crafting components that still hum with draconic essence, and piles of coin and ingots fused into irregular lumps. Most notable is a blood-red gem, warm to the touch, pulsing faintly with the dragon's lingering temperament. The party is free to divvy trophies, sell extraneous wealth, and decide who keeps the war-forged items that might tip the balance in future encounters.
