Bera Ironbrow
Artificer (Battle Smith)
Bera Ironbrow
Species
Mountain Dwarf
Appearance
Short and squat like a hammerhead forging itself into the world. Her skin is line-riddled and soot-streaked, with a faint lattice of burn scars across her left forearm that glint silver when the sun hits them. Her hands are broad and callused, nails filed into neat flat edges and stained a permanent charcoal. She walks with the steady stomp of someone who measures distance by heart, each step ringing faintly as if she carries a hidden bell. She keeps a small braid of copper wire braided into her hair that hums when she concentrates. Contradiction: despite the grime and soot she always wears a delicate brooch of polished glass shaped like a teardrop, and she cleans that brooch each morning until it shines like a mirror.
“Direct, economy of words, with a slow comforting cadence when telling stories.”

Distinguishing Features
Thin lattice of silvered burn scars on left forearm
Copper wire braid in hair that hums when she concentrates
A polished glass teardrop brooch she cleans obsessively
Small crescent gouge in the haft of her hammer
Voice
“Husky and warm, with a faint rasp from years near the forge and a habit of softening consonants when amused”
Clothing
Thick leather apron scored with old burn marks, heavy wool sleeves rolled to the elbow, ash-stained trousers, and calf-high iron-toe boots. Under her apron she wears a fitted brigandine vest reinforced with hidden clockwork plates of her own making.
Body Language
Deliberate and economical. She tilts her head when thinking and drums her knuckles when impatient. When pleased she wipes her hands on a rag and offers it rather than shaking a hand.
