Appearance

Mirelle moves like a reed in wind—sinuous, deliberate, as if always listening to a current only she can hear. Her face is narrow and tan from sun, with a faint silver scar that climbs from temple to jawline like frost. Her hands are ink-stained from charts and singe-smudged from experiments; the nails are deliberately kept slightly too short. Around her left wrist she wears a braided strip of blue-and-white linen embroidered with names in tiny stitches, a keepsake and map of debts. Unexpectedly, she favors a wide, painted circus mask tied to her belt — never worn in daylight, but kept as a talisman and conversation-starter. When she laughs it shows too teeth and is quick to vanish; when she is concentrating her pupils dilate and take on a faint, electric sheen.

Quick and clipped when practical; fond of idioms and old river proverbs when relaxed. She peppers speech with short, clipped metaphors about currents and sails.”

Distinguishing Features

Silver scar running from temple to jawline

Ink- and singe-stained fingertips

A worn circus mask tied to her belt

Pupils sometimes flash faintly electric when casting

Voice

Light, slightly reedy with a salt-sweet lilt from river-speech; becomes low and steady when invoking spells.

Clothing

Layered, practical garments: a sleeveless dye-streaked smock over a linen shirt, fitted leather bracers, wrap skirts with hidden pockets, and a hooded travel cloak whose inner lining is embroidered with tiny cloud motifs. She wears mismatched leather boots—one reinforced with scraped copper—comfortable for long river journeys. Jewelry is minimal and meaningful: a thin copper torque with an inlaid chip of sea-glass and a small brass whistle tucked at her throat.

Body Language

Often leans forward when listening, palms up as if feeling a breeze; when annoyed she folds arms and tucks chin, like closing a sail.
