Oberan Thalewell
Bard (College of Swords)
Oberan Thalewell
Species
Human
Appearance
Oberan moves like a story told in motion. He is light on his feet with a dancer's balance and the habit of tilting his head as if listening to a distant refrain. His clothes are well-worn but tailored; each fold seems placed to catch attention. He carries a rapier at his hip that is nicked and lovingly half-parked in its scabbard; when he draws it he does so with a little theatrical bow. Unexpectedly, his left forearm is wrapped in faded sailor's tattoos that peek from under his sleeve and depict a ship beating windward, a constellation, and a child's small, simple anchor. The tattoos look older than him and are meticulously inked in a style from a distant port, creating a contradiction between his polished city manners and the rough sea-legacy ink.
“Measured, melodic, with a slight seaside lilt; he lingers on vowels when trying to soothe and shortens syllables when mocking.”

Faded sailor tattoos on left forearm
Small bone anchor medallion hidden at his chest
A thin scar along his right eyebrow
Voice
“Warm baritone that can slip into a theatrical falsetto for performance; when angry it grows sharp and clipped”
Clothing
A faded teal doublet embroidered with silver thread along the cuffs, leather bracers scarred from past parries, flexible dark trousers, and a travel-worn cloak with hidden inner pockets. He wears a small medallion with an anchor carved in bone on a cord beneath his shirt.
Body Language
Open and theatrical in safe company but closed and quick in hostile spaces; he tilts his chin slightly to signal attention and often rubs the inside of his forearm unconsciously when tense
