Astara Yarvaya
Sorcerer
Astara Yarvaya
Species
Starfolk
Appearance
Tall and lean with an angular, slightly androgynous frame. Skin seems to hold a faint inner glow that pulses like a distant constellation when he breathes. His features are precise and almost crystalline, cheekbones like carved glass and a long, deliberate mouth. He moves with the slow assurance of someone who measures time in star-cycles rather than heartbeats. Wherever he walks small motes of pale light cling to his cloak and tumble off as if dislodged from a comet. Unexpected element: his left hand is wrapped in plain, threadbare linen almost like an old farmer's bandage, which seems at odds with his celestial regalia and hints at a private wound or penance.
“Measured cadence, precise diction. Often inserts cosmic similes and will sometimes answer a question with a question beginning with 'If the stars say.”

Distinguishing Features
Subtle inner glow to the skin that brightens when casting
Left hand wrapped in plain linen bandage
Tiny constellation-shaped scar under his right eye
Voice
“Soft, resonant tenor with a slight metallic edge when he pronounces star-names. His tone becomes colder when speaking of fate he cannot avert.”
Clothing
A long, high-collared robe woven from deep indigo fabric that seems darker than shadow between threads and studded with tiny motes of glass that catch light like stars. Over it he wears a sleeveless jerkin of silver-threaded leather etched with star charts and constellations of Malabar. Around his throat hangs a brass astrolabe the size of a palm. His boots are soft and quiet, good for climbing parapets.
Body Language
Often still as a statue while speaking, then fluid and rapid when casting. Tends to tilt his head slightly toward the ceiling when pondering, as if calibrating to the sky.
