Appearance
Ardan is a wiry gnome with skin the color of well-oiled teak and hair that looks like a bundle of unspooled silver wire. His left eye is natural, a bright hazel, but his right eye is obscured by a permanent clockwork ocular harness containing four different rotating lenses of varying colors. He moves with a frantic, bird-like twitchiness, his hands constantly polishing a piece of glass or adjusting a tiny dial on his belt. Despite his technical precision, he is surprisingly messy, with smears of jewelers rouge on his cheeks and iridescent oil stains on his knuckles that never quite wash away.
