Sister Morana
Abyssal Librarian
Sister Morana
Species
Hollow-Born Human
Appearance
Morana moves with a heavy, dragging gait as if wading through deep water. Her skin is the color of aged parchment, translucent enough to see silver-grey veins that pulse when secrets are spoken near her. She stands unnaturally tall and thin. Her most striking feature is her lack of a shadow; instead, a pool of thick, viscous ink follows her feet, occasionally bubbling. She wears a blindfold of leaden silk, yet navigates the labyrinthine library with unerring precision.
“Her voice is a dry rasp, sounding like two pieces of sandpaper rubbing together. She never raises her volume and uses 'Weight' as a measurement of morality.”

Distinguishing Features
Silver veins that glow faintly in the dark
Ink-like pool instead of a shadow
A perpetual scent of ozone and old dust
Fingerprints that have been worn completely smooth
Voice
“A low, breathy whisper that seems to vibrate in the listener's marrow rather than their ears.”
Clothing
Heavy, multilayered robes made of woven lead-thread and blackened papyrus. The hems are encrusted with dried wax and the dust of crushed gemstones. A massive ring of iron keys hangs from her waist, each key engraved with a different word for 'silence'.
Body Language
She stands perfectly still, tilting her head as if listening to the heartbeat of the building. Her hands are always tucked into her sleeves unless she is weighing something.
