Handsome and imposing, Mordred is broad-shouldered and moves with the controlled economy of a seasoned soldier. His long, dark curly hair is gathered into a high leather-bound ponytail that drips faint motes of silver when he steps from moonlit water. A thin pointed beard frames a jaw that looks carved from riverstone. A crown of tiny stones, bleached bones, and barnacle-like growths seems to grow from his scalp as if the lake itself had seeded him; when he speaks softly to the Lady of the Lake the crown pulses with pale light. His armor is polished to a dull sheen that holds water droplets like stars; one unexpected detail is a child's sewn patch of bright festival cloth on the inside of his cuirass that he rarely lets others see. In public he is stoic and measured; in private he laughs like a stormbreaker and drinks too much spiced cider.
