Stocky and small for a dwarf but with an almost nervous quickness to his hands. He moves with surprising lightness amid stacks of books, balancing a pile of folios against his chest while his heavy-soled boots whisper on polished stone. His beard is kept short and braided tightly at the chin, threaded with a single faded ribbon in the sigil color of the library. One eyebrow has a thin white scar that runs like a pale rune from temple to brow, the remnant of a childhood accident in a collapsed archive. When he is thinking, he taps the rim of his thumb with a knife strike against his thumb-nail, a staccato rhythm that sounds like a metronome.
