Serrik Valdren
Bard (College of Echoes) / Warlock (Patron: The Deep Anchor)
Serrik Valdren
Species
Human (Saltborn of the Western Isles)
Appearance
Serrik moves like water that remembers both storms and harbors: steady, slow to rage, quick to settle. He is a man whose face has learned to tell and withhold stories—the left side lined by a faint, fan-shaped scar that puckers the skin like a healed sail tear, the right side smooth and almost boyish. His hands are thick and callused at the thumbs from years of polishing tankards and hauling barrels, but the fingertips of his left hand are unusually nimble and ink-stained from night-time ledger-work. He keeps one eyebrow perpetually raised, as if testing every sentence he hears. Contradiction marks him: his eyes are warm and laugh-soft, yet his smile often reveals teeth stained a dark blue from chewing fermented sea-bark, a local habit he indulges in private. He favors leaning on the bar with both forearms planted, so patrons view him as an immovable keel; yet when he moves to intervene in a fight his steps have the sudden, accurate grace of a trained duelist.
“Measured and melodic, Serrik places commas where others would thunder. He uses old marinere metaphors, often referring to 'lee' and 'keel' in conversation.”

Distinguishing Features
Fan-shaped scar along left cheek
One aquamarine eye, one hazel eye rimmed with silver
Blue-stained teeth when he smiles
Brass conch earpiece in his left ear
Fidgeting with a worn tankard ring on his right thumb
Voice
“Low, warm baritone with a slight coastal lilt; gets harder when angered, almost toothy when amused.”
Clothing
Worn navy coat lined with leather ribs salvaged from ship-keels, a faded waist sash wrapped twice (one side embroidered with a faded sigil of a half-sunken lyre), cuffed linen shirts, and mud-scarred breeches. He wears a small brass earpiece shaped like a conch, set in his left ear—not jewelry so much as an old keepsake. Unexpectedly, he always keeps a child's crocheted mitten folded in an inside pocket.
Body Language
Leans forward to make a point, folds arms to close conversation, smooths his coat when deciding to reveal or conceal something.
