Marcellus Veyrin
Species

Appearance
Marcellus moves like a man used to negotiating space: elbows measured, steps deliberate. He wears a weathered half-cloak pinned at one shoulder so his forearms are always free; the cloak's inner lining is embroidered with dozens of tiny, faded sigils—marks of stalls he once managed. His hands are broad with fine scars and a habit of fiddling with a carved walnut bead rosary threaded through his fingers. When still, he often leans as if listening for a distant sound. Unexpectedly, his right shoe is new and immaculate while the left is patched beyond recognition, a small contradiction that catches people's eye and questions their assumptions.
“Measured, with a low tenor and occasional clipped bursts when annoyed. Uses barter metaphors and pricing metaphors in speech.”

Distinguishing Features
Thin scar that arcs from temple to jawline on left side (he doesn’t like to talk about how he got it)
A faded inked numeral '7' on the inside of his right wrist from his youth as a market runner
A small copper whistle tied to his belt — dented but polished inside
Voice
“Low and warm, carries easily in a crowded market; rises to a sharp edge when angered but seldom yells.”
Clothing
Simple linen shirt, leather apron tailored to hide small pockets, trousers with reinforced knees, mismatched boots (left patched many times), a half-cloak with embroidered stall sigils, a brass ring with an unpolished blue stone set on his left index finger.
Body Language
Open palms when conciliatory, clenched fingers on the rosary when thinking; tends to lean forward when bargaining and retreats a half-step when betrayed.
