Corven Slate
Curator
Corven Slate
Species
Human (born goblin heritage; conceals true origin)
Appearance
Short, wiry traveler whose silhouette is easy to misread. Corven moves with a supple, economical grace, shoulders slightly hunched as if protecting a satchel-sized treasure. His face is usually half-hidden beneath a layered disguise consisting of a low, draped hood, a wrapped travel scarf that covers nose and mouth, and thin lines of cosmetic pigment blurring sharper features. When the disguise shifts the viewer notices subtle, goblinoid angles beneath—a high cheek ridge, a slender hooked nose, and ears bound beneath strips of leather. Skin glimpses are dusted with ash and travel grime. His hands are ink-stained and ink-ruled, fingernails trimmed and often smeared with ledger soot. Movement gives the impression of someone who measures exits and sightlines as a reflex. Unexpected element: he wears a child's brass bell tied to the inside of his cloak hem that jingles only if the wearer is very close to him, an intimacy he keeps private.
“Measured, clipped; punctuates statements with ledger cross-references and dates when cataloging.”
