Appearance

Thalirien moves like a thought slipping between rooms: slow to enter, precise to observe, and quick to vanish from the edge of attention. Their robe is layered in panels of matte velvet and glossy threads that shift tone under light, giving the impression of a garment woven from evening and sheen. Along the left sleeve, dozens of tiny glass beads and silver filaments are stitched in the pattern of a constellation no scholar can name; as they move, the beads occasionally catch light and blink as if far-off lanterns. Their fingers are long and stained faintly with purple ink; the nails carefully buffed to a soft shimmer. An unexpected detail: their right eye is milky and clouded, an old injury, but when Thalirien studies a person they focus with that eye almost more intently than the good one, as if the cloudy pupil sees emotion rather than facets. They favor slow, deliberate gestures and habitually tilt their head when listening, producing an impression at once weary and razor-sharp.

Height5'10"
BuildSlim, slightly angular—no wasted mass, movements economical
EyesLeft: cold emerald; Right: pearly cloud (partially blind)
HairSilver-blue, kept braided into a single rope and looped at the nape
SkinPale with a subtle iridescent undertone, like moonlit pearl

Measured, literate, with a tendency toward elliptical metaphors. Tends to address people by titles or the most distinctive feature ("you with the copper braid") rather than by name unless intimate.”

Distinguishing Features

Milky right eye (old arcane burn)

Constellation of glass beads on left sleeve that catch light

Ink-stained fingertips

A faint burn scar that runs from temple to jaw, vertical and pale

Voice

Soft, slightly reedy, with precise consonants and a faint lilt of old court speech; laughter is rare but musical.

Clothing

Layered scholar's robes dyed twilight-blue and charcoal, undershirt of embroidered silk depicting looping motifs, soft leather boots with worn soles, a belt of small pouches and a satchel patched in many places. A scarf that looks like woven fog is always draped over one shoulder.

Body Language

Often still, leaning forward only when a detail intrigues them; fingers steepled when thinking; will close a hand over their chest briefly when a memory pains them.
