Thalaira Maiathah
Fighter (Battle Master)
Thalaira Maiathah
Species
Elf
Appearance
Thalaira moves like a tide: deceptively slow at first, then sudden, efficient motion when the moment demands it. Her skin is wind-browned and faintly freckled with salt, but the pads of her fingers are stained a permanent, indigo-black from years of ink and calligraphy. She wears her long hair braided into a single rope that snakes down her back, threaded with tiny carved bone beads shaped like gulls. Her boots are sea-salted leather patched in multiple places, but her shirt sleeves are always rolled back to reveal pale forearms crisscrossed with pale scars and a thin white crescent scar across her left wrist from a blade long ago. The contradictory notes strike most people: a sailor's practicality—ropes, brass compass chained to her belt, salt-caked coat—mixed with the delicate precision of a calligrapher: ink-smudged nails, a small leather-bound journal tied with a ribbon, and a small reed pen tucked behind one ear. She tends to stand with one hip cocked, head tilted as if listening for wind directions even indoors; when she smiles, it's quick and tight, eyes still assessing the room.
“Sparse and metaphor-rich. Uses natural metaphors and clipped commands.”

Distinguishing Features
Ink-stained fingertips (permanent)
Curved white scar across left wrist
Small carved wooden gull beads woven into her braid
A faint ash tattoo of coastline lines along her right forearm
Voice
“Low, slightly rasping from years of sea air and shouting over decks. Speaks with deliberate cadence, rising slightly on punchlines or lessons.”
Clothing
A weatherproofed salt-stained coat over a faded green tunic, studded leather vest beneath, calfwraps and sea-creased trousers. A moss-green scarf given by a druid friend is always folded into her pack. She carries a small maproll, a brass compass, a reed pen and ink case, and a flask of dark rum slung at her hip.
Body Language
Measured, always oriented to exits and windows; touches her compass or maproll when thinking; when listening she tilts her head as if gauging wind.
