Mirel of the Pale Knuckle
Sorcerer
Mirel of the Pale Knuckle
Species
Human (ghost-affected)
Appearance
Mirel looks like a child stitched from moonlight and old paper. Her small body is wrapped in thin, translucent bandages that never quite sit right — one sleeve falls to reveal a tiny, pale shoulder scar; the other is tucked tight as if to hold a secret inside. Her movements are a slow, uncanny drift: she tilts rather than turns, steps without scuffing. When she stands in sunlight she seems slightly out of focus, as if the world keeps forgetting to look at her. Contradictorily, her stare is sharp and calculating, like an old eyes watching through a child's face. She often clutches a crooked wooden toy hand — a puppet’s half-glove with a washed-out rune carved into the palm — and hums tuneless lullabies that make grown people uneasy.
“Soft, sing-song cadence with sudden, archaic turns of phrase. Uses child-simple words but will lurch into old ritual slogans when provoked.”

Distinguishing Features
Bandaged right forearm covered in tiny handprints that shift night to night
A carved wooden puppet glove she never lets go of
A whisper-thin halo of motes that smell faintly of lilac and iron
Occasional static of cold air around her crown
Voice
“High, breathy, like dry pages being turned; sometimes two-layered when the tide answers — a whisper under the syllables.”
Clothing
Tattered child's dress of faded indigo, patched with mismatched fabrics (a funeral shroud, a doll's ribbon). Over it she wears a small knitted shawl stitched from dozens of lost mittens. A ribbon tied at her throat carries a smear of dried ash.
Body Language
Tilts her head at strange angles, taps the puppet glove when thinking, hovers slightly off the ground; when angry she draws herself very still and lets the motes around her sharpen.
