Appearance
Garrin moves like a man who has learned to take up space without forcing it: measured steps, a single, sweeping motion when he addresses a room. He favors long, heavily embroidered coats whose collars sit like a diplomat's shield; the embroidery is not merely decorative but stitched with tiny pockets and sewn-in seals of past contracts. His left hand is perpetually stained with a faint, almost indelible silver ink from annotating ledgers by lamplight. When he smiles it reaches his eyes last, as if courtesy is a practiced gesture before sincerity. Contradiction marks him: his gloves are immaculate leather, but one cuff is always rolled back and patched in coarse burlap—an ostentatious nod to the common merchants who trust him. He wears two rings: one a signet of the Velmire house, the other a cheap brass band with three notches, which he hides beneath his glove and taps when thinking.
“Smooth, slightly nasal, with a habit of prefacing requests as favors. Uses trade metaphors liberally ('let us weigh this on both sides of the scale').”

Distinguishing Features
Silver-ink stain on the tips of his left fingers
A small crescent scar beneath his right ear from a coin-knife accident
Three deliberate notches on a cheap brass ring he never shows
Voice
“Clear baritone with practiced cadence; rises by half a step at the end of questions; laughter is rare but infectious when genuine.”
Clothing
Layered silk shirts under a heavy brocade coat in deep teal and brass thread; muted travel cloak with hidden pockets; well-kept calf boots; fingerless gloves; a slender rapier at his hip with a merchant's seal on the pommel
Body Language
Keeps shoulders squared but relaxed; tilts his head when assessing truthfulness; often gestures with his ungloved right hand while the left fiddles with the brass ring.
