Karima White-Creek
Species
Human (Bashiri)
Appearance
Karima moves like someone used to threading through markets and farm lanes—quick, deliberate steps, a coil of readiness in her shoulders. Her face is angular with a faint scar that slices the left brow to cheekbone, a pale seam puckered with a permanent squint in sunlight. She wears a patchwork leather vest over a plain linen shirt; the leather is burnished but repaired in dozens of places with mismatched stitching and a scrap of faded purple—Varyth's old county color. Around her throat she keeps a silver coin threaded on cord, edge-smooth and nicked; she fingers it whenever thinking. Unexpectedly, one wrist is wrapped in children's ribbons — bright, frayed lengths she refuses to cut. She frequently chews a sprig of dried lavender when nervous, which perfumes her with a faint, odd sweetness in the middle of smoke and sweat.
“Direct, economical phrasing; uses idioms from riverfolk speech. Inclined to short aphorisms ('A locked gate can be moved by many hands').”

Distinguishing Features
Scar from brow to cheek, gives a permanent half-squint
Worn silver coin on a cord around the neck
Frayed children's ribbons wrapped on left wrist
Slight limp after a knee wound, barely visible except at a run
Voice
“Low, steady, with a river-accent lilt; persuasive when calm, razor-sharp when annoyed. Laughs rarely, but genuinely.”
Clothing
Layered practical garments: linen shirt, patched leather vest, dark trousers, soft boots, a short hooded cloak dyed a dull brown; during raids she adds a battered metal gorget and a single pauldron taken from a militia dead.
Body Language
Uses an open, grounding stance when listening; clenches jaw and curls fingers when angered. She often rests a hand on the shoulder of whoever she speaks to, an unconscious calming gesture.
