Saelith Varenel
Wizard (School of Divination)
Saelith Varenel
Species
Elf
Appearance
Tall and willowy in the way of old elven lineages. When he moves he seems to float for a fraction of a breath, as if gravity respects his thought. He wears his hair braided at the nape with a silver filigree comb that doubles as a stylus. The edges of his sleeves are ink-stained and the inside of his cloak is stitched with maps of ley currents. Unexpectedly, his left palm is callused and marked with faint scorch scars as though he once practiced forbidden touch magic. He favors pens and scroll cases over robes befitting a court mage and often has a pocket of glass vials clinking like distant rain.
“Measured, articulate, and occasionally sprinkled with old-world idioms from his house. He uses precise terminology when describing magic but adopts metaphors when teaching laypeople.”

Distinguishing Features
Silver filigree comb braided into hair
Ink-stained sleeve hems
Faint circular scorch marks on his left palm
Voice
“Soft, slightly reedy, and precise. Tends to lower his voice when reciting arcane names as if protecting them.”
Clothing
A faded blue scholar's robe over a practical doublet; many inner pockets, leather wristwrap with tiny compartments, a long travel cloak with stitched runic grids on the hem, and soft boots scuffed from miles of roads. He carries a leather satchel dense with papers and a roll of wax-sealed certificates.
Body Language
Holds his hands as if feeling an invisible surface. When thinking he taps the inside of his wrist with the edge of his thumb and forefinger as if aligning a sundial.
